met our travel group! we didn't have one last time so very exciting. took steepest funicular in the world (veracity tbd) to victoria peak, overlooking all of hong kong, kowloon, new territories and beyond.... nice. very spoiled dogs have their own rest area. also went to south side of hong kong isle to tour aberdeen and the "fishing village" which doesn't have many fisherfolk these days... last time we did this with a saudi family who were a total panic, the veiled grandma loved to make faces, and we sort of missed them. xia was just 1 then! nutty. dim sum lunch with our travel group and guide, then we went to central hk to take the outdoor esalators up the steep hillsides to visit the cool hoods. resisted the foot massage, but gave in to the gelato. tomorrow, hopefully, to botanical gardens, then off to nanning at 5 p.m. for our last evening as a family of three. GULP.

It's great to get these updates! I wish I was technologically savvy enough to do this while we're in Peru!
thanks guys! shelby there are two other families in our group -- only one is going with us to nanning however (the other going to nanjing), but we'll all meet up again in guangzhou. xia asked me why i talk so much when i meet new people....
