ok, so, no turning back, even if we wanted to. fuxiang is officially ours. those top photos are us in the government office telling why we want to adopt this child ("to complete our family and give xia a little sister"), promising never to abuse or abandon her, and telling of our plans for her future ("we want her to be a citizen of the world, and go to university and have a profession and a happy life....oh, and learn chinese!"). then the family we're traveling with, and the orphanage director (far left) and her assistant (far right) posed with us for some pictures. more to come.

yes, indeed, shelby, the journal is getting a workout...! it totally rocks. i'm hoping this is the start of something big....
